Dog Trainer          Online

Jenn was drawn to all animals and especially dogs from early childhood. However, she only gained her first pup as a teenager as a weekend volunteer for the Australian Animal Protection Society.

Jenn was always drawn to the working breeds, and one day Shadow, the seemingly placid Blue Heeler x German Shepherd pup, found her way home to the Reid household.

The pup soon became a biting, chewing, pot-plant-destroying, digging, zoomie machine — so Jenn spent her year 12 focused not on schoolwork, but on devouring dog training books and training her pup. The outcome was Shadow becoming a faithful companion for 17 years even though the year 12 marks took quite a hit!

Life led Jenn to university, where she became a radiographer, tutor radiographer, then sonographer in a major public hospital, followed by private practice, being part of the medical team at many an Australian MotoGP, as well as a foray into management and the financial industry.

With a diverse array of skills from these areas and coming full circle, Jenn came back to the world of dog training in 2018 to find ways of helping her new rescue dogs with their challenges. Wanting to train with kindness, she was drawn to Absolute Dogs and went on to complete both Pro Dog Trainer and PDT Geek (the science of dog behaviour) courses in 2019. She enjoys continually learning to further develop and refine knowledge and skills.

Having transformed her own dogs, Jenn brings understanding, care, and the "knowing" that challenges owners may face can be turned around and amazing relationships can be formed through games, simple management techniques, and reward-based training. Helping new puppy owners start the journey with their new companion in a fun, positive way, and building the foundations of an awesome relationship for the future, is also her passion.

Other than Shadow, Jenn and her husband have shared their life with a very naughty-but-nice escape artist Kelpie; a "can do no wrong" perfect-dog-in-every-way BC x kelpie, and now a red stumpy tail cattle dog and Tri BC x blue cattle dog who both love to help keep Jenn’s training on the front foot!
