Lilly Pilly Way Australian Cobberdogs has a few opportunities for guardian homes coming up in the next few months.

We are welcoming applicants from prospective families who are willing to work with us and want to help contribute to the ongoing development of this wonderful breed. Some attributes we are looking for in a guardian home:

1. Experience with dogs – Previous experience with dogs, particularly with raising puppies, will be highly regarded.

2. Commitment to training – A guardian home should be willing to invest time in positive reinforcement training and socialization.

3. Stable environment – A stable, loving household that provides consistency and structure for the puppy.

4. Active lifestyle – An active home that can provide physical and mental stimulation, including daily walks, playtime, and socialization with other dogs and people.

5. Suitable living space – A safe, secure home with a fenced yard or access to appropriate outdoor space for exercise and play.

6. Understanding of the breeds needs – Knowledge of the breed’s specific requirements and temperament or a willingness to learn about and meet those needs.

7. Ability to follow breeder’s guidelines – Willingness to listen to the breeder about specific health care and willing to feed a fresh food, highly nutritious diet.

8. Health-conscious – Access to a reputable vet and the ability to provide routine medical care, including vaccinations and any breed-specific health checks.

9. No plans for long-term travel or relocation – Stability in terms of residence to ensure the puppy’s routine and care are not disrupted.

10. Strong communication – Regular, transparent communication with the breeder, including updates on the puppy’s progress and any health or behavioural concerns.

11. Respect for the guardian home agreement – Willingness to respect the terms of the guardian home agreement, including including returning the dog when required for breeding purposes and understanding the contract’s obligations.
